Dorotha J. "Dot" Dennehy

NORTH TONAWANDA — Dorotha J. "Dot" (nee Christy) Dennehy, age 54, of North Tonawanda, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at her residence, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. A resident of North Tonawanda for the past 20 years, she was the daughter of Richard Christy, who died in December 2013; and sister of the late Anthony Christy. Mrs. Dennehy had been employed as a Direct Support Professional for Heritage Christian Services in North Tonawanda. She enjoyed her work as a caregiver, and spending time with her family was also very important to her.  She also loved to bake.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis M. Dennehy; three daughters, Kathryn Dennehy of GA, Jennifer Dennehy of PA, and Mary (George) Goddard of CA; two grandchildren, Gloria and Caleb Goddard; a step-son, Michael (Kathryn) Dennehy of Springville, NY; her mother, Mary (nee DiBesco) Christy of Ransomville, NY; two sisters, Donna (JD) Dale and Cathy Wills, both of Niagara Falls, NY; and two brothers, Thomas (Cindy) Christy of Burt, NY and Victor Christy of     Ransomville, NY; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, June 17, at 7 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda. Rev. Ernest Green will officiate. Memorials may be made to Heritage Christian Services and Wolf Fund, 349 West Commercial St., Suite 2795,        East Rochester, NY 14445.
