Sandra (nee Schlegel) Thompson, age 71, of the Town of Pendleton, died on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the home of her daughter, while under the care of Hospice. Born in the Town of Tonawanda, NY to the late George and Murial (Robinson) Schlegel, she was the wife of Harry "Fred" Thompson, who died in December 2001; and was the sister of the late Jack Schlegel. Sandra had been employed as a Cafeteria Monitor for Starpoint High School for over 20 years, retiring in 2009. She loved animals and enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by three children, Laurie (Daniel) Moeller, Jeffrey (Tamara) Thompson, and Michael (Gina) Thompson, all of the Town of Lockport; six grandchildren, Danielle (Lewis) Trembley, Adam Moeller, Violet Thompson, Tristan Thompson, Madeleine Thompson, and Ava Thompson; a sister, Sharon Maul of Baldwinsville, NY; and is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be present on Wednesday, July 2nd from 1-5 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (Between Morgan & Broad Sts.) City of Tonawanda, where a Memorial Service will be held at 5 PM following the visitation. Rev. Larry Bentley will officiate. Burial will be private. Flowers gratefully declined.
