Mary Louise Schlagenhauf

Mary Louise (Johnson) Schlagenhauf, 83, surrounded by loved ones, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord. The love and devotion that she had not only for her loved ones but for strangers as well was unsurpassed. For those blessed to have known her, know she will be greatly missed; for there is no one else like her. Words simply cannot express how much she meant to everyone. Mary Louise was a kindhearted, loving, giving and compassionate women. She enjoyed church and spending time with family and loved ones. She lived for the Lord, she was the Lord's Messenger.
She was very athletic in her younger days. Voted most athletic; Mary Louise was on the softball, soccer and basketball teams. She was also head of the Girls Athletic Association. When she was fifteen she swam across the Niagara River.
Mary Louise lived a wonderful life. She married the love of her life, Erwin, at the age of 18. Cherished mother to seven children, Butchie, Debbie, Karen, Kathy, Barbara, Terry and Johnny; loving grandmother to seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was a room mother for her children and some of her grandchildren as well. Mary Louise would dress up like a witch for Halloween and read books to the children's class. She was also a Girl Scout Leader. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting ceramics. She loved camping and the great outdoors especially the Adirondack Mountains. Mary Louise held Muscular Dystrophy carnivals in her garage every summer. She was always giving to charities, always trying to help the less fortunate. She is simply irreplaceable.
Mary Louise would like me to ask you to "Accept Jesus as your Savior because Heaven won't be the same without YOU! Sweet Dreams!" MLS
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in her honor on July 13th at 2 PM at the Salvation Army on Broad St. in Tonawanda.
