TONAWANDA — ´╗┐Allan Bruce Hopkins, age 82, of the City of Tonawanda, died on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Schofield Residence in Tonawanda. Born in North Tonawanda, NY to the late Clarence Howard and Olive Jean (Bruce) Hopkins, he had been a resident of Tonawanda for the greater part of his life and was the husband of Dona L. Hopkins, who died in April of this year; and brother of the late Elizabeth Zanello. Mr. Hopkins was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in the City of Tonawanda, where he served as a Deacon and Elder.  He was a member of Ken-Ton Masonic Lodge #1186, and the Carpenter's Local Union 276.

He is survived by three children, Kim Hopkins Verrall of Tonawanda, NY, Debra (Randall)     Shorten and Patricia (Peter) Vetter, both of North Tonawanda; five grandchildren, Aron (Wendy) Verrall, Kathleen (John) Swain, Megan (Richard) Pavetto, Nick Vetter and Matthew Vetter; two great-grandchildren, Sienna Swain and Dominick Pavetto; one brother, James Hopkins of Boston, MA; a brother-in-law, Bruce (Donna) Blinston of the City of Tonawanda; and many nieces and nephews.  

There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, August 3, at 10 AM in First Presbyterian Church, 149 Broad St., City of Tonawanda. Rev. Edmund Hoener will officiate. Private burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to SPCA of Erie County, 205 Ensminger Rd., Tonawanda, NY 14150.
