Gerald W. Myers


Gerald W. Myers, age 83, of Tonawanda, died on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at his residence, after a long illness. Born in Houtzdale, PA, he was the son of the late Lemuel and Louisa (nee Goss) Myers and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. A resident of Tonawanda for more than 50 years, he was employed as an inspector at the General Motors Engine Plant in the Town of Tonawanda until retiring in 1988. He was the husband of the late Mona Lou (nee Allen) Myers, who died in 2000; and brother of the late Shirley Waite.
He is survived by his four children, Jeff (Karen) Myers, Dawn Myers, Jim (Toni) Myers and Renee (James) Staly; and six grandchildren, Jeni Ballard, Ross Myers, Halie Sheehan, Sydney Myers, Hannah Myers, and Bo Staly. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, David, Chris, Charlie, and Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-6 PM on Sunday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday. Friends invited. Interment at Elmlawn Cemetery. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo are preferred by the family.
