Norma Fuchs

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT — Norma (nee Burg) Fuchs, 87, of White River Junction, VT, and formerly of Tonawanda, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at her residence at Valley Terrace Assisted Living in White River Junction.

Norma was born February 22, 1926, in Buffalo, the daughter of Amelia (Bieler) Burg and Joseph Burg, Jr. She graduated from East High School in Buffalo and married Hugo William Fuchs in 1949. She worked her whole adult life at the Bell Telephone Company, Sears, Loblaw's, and, finally, her favorite job because of her deep love of books, the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader and a Cub Scout den mother, and was active in her church women's guild.

She was predeceased by her husband, "Bill," in 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Marcia (Fuchs) Welsh of Haverhill, NH; and son, Michael Fuchs of Buffalo; granddaughters, Martina and Melissa Fuchs, also of Western New York; sisters, Joan (Burg) Storm and Amelia (Burg) Hays, both of Williamsville, NY; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service, at Elmlawn Cemetery in Tonawanda, will be held at a date to be announced. Arrangements by JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., Tonawanda.
