Joseph S. Lachcik, Sr.

NORTH TONAWANDA —  

Joseph S. Lachcik, Sr., age 91, of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, on Monday, December 3, 2012 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Born in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Albert and Sophia (nee Bialas) Lachcik and was an Army Veteran of WWII. A resident of Buffalo before moving to North Tonawanda 28 years ago, Joseph had been employed at Bell Aerospace and then operated Tonawanda Furniture. He was the brother of the late Frank Lachcik.
He is survived by his wife, Helena Lachcik; eleven children, Victoria Lachcik, Christopher Lachcik, John Bandemer, Deborah (Jason) Houenstein, Joseph (Beth) Bandemer, James (Sarah) Bandemer, Michael Bandemer, Patricia (Thomas) Richards, Joseph (Karen) Lachcik, Paul Lachcik, and Thomas Lachcik; his sister, Victoria Koteras; two nieces, Dr. Marilyn (Ken) Barker and Eileen (Tarik) Elibol; and a nephew, Raymond Koteras. Also surviving are many grandchildren; and two great-nephews, Ray Clinton Barker and Edmund Barker.
Friends may call from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church on Oliver Street in North Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project are preferred by the family.
