TOWN OF WHEATFIELD —
Robert N. Rees, age 70, of the Town of Wheatfield, unexpectedly, December 25, 2013 in E.C.M.C. Robert has been involved in precision gear manufacturing for 53 years, beginning his career with Riley Gear in 1961. He served as Vice-President of Niagara Gear and was currently the co-owner and President of Great Lakes Gear Company Inc. of Tonawanda. He was the longtime friend and business partner of Donald Eggleston. He was a member of the Wheatfield Blades Hockey Association. He was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and his dogs.
Beloved husband of Karen (nee Meyers) Rees for over 48 years. Dear father of Patricia Rees-McAndrew, Robert (Kelly) Rees, Timothy (Cathy) Rees, Julianne (Joel) Scott and Bryan (fiance'e Hilary) McAndrew. His "special daughter", Jennifer (Dan) Guiseppetti-Jurczak, his living kidney donor. Grandfather of nine grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Brother of John Rees, Florence ("best bro" Tom) Miranda, and William (Nancy) Rees. Uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Monday from 2-5 PM, which will be followed by a memorial service beginning at 5 PM. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Erie County Medical Center Lifeline Foundation for Kidney Transplant or the Niagara County S.P.C.A.
