Jean V. Litz

NORTH TONAWANDA — Jean (nee Van Inwegen) Litz, age 88, of the City of Tonawanda, Saturday, March 1, 2014, at      Northgate Health Care Facility. A resident of Tonawanda for more than 60 years, Jean was a graduate of Buffalo State College with degrees in Exceptional Education and Criminal Justice, and had been employed as a Speech Therapist in the Buffalo School System for 10 years, retiring in 1979. She was the wife of 61 years to William J. Litz, who died in 2008; and was the sister of the late Edna Quiett and Ann Glass.

She is survived by four children, Carolyn (David) DeZak of Amherst, William V. Litz of North Tonawanda, Lois (Charles Muehlbauer) Litz of North Tonawanda, and James (Cindy) Litz of Tonawanda; eight grandchildren, Daniel (Agnieszka), Dana (Robert), Aubrey, Meredith,    Jordan, Matthew (Kristen), Allyson and Benjamin, and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday only from  4-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda, where services will be held Wednesday evening at 8 PM by the Rev. Robert Fink. A private burial will be in Elmlawn        Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to the American    Diabetes Assn. (Amherst office), 315 Alberta Dr., Amherst,  NY 14226.
