Julieann (Manetta) Hartburg

WATERLOO, ONT — The day after Easter, Julie went to be with her Saviour and Lord Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed on peacefully from her home in Waterloo, Ontario.

Julie was born to Yolanda (nee Maiorani) and the late Alphonse Manetta in Rochester.In 1978 she obtained a Bachelor of Music Education from SUCNY Fredonia and married the Rev. Mark  Hartburg (a 1974 graduate of Tonawanda High School). They are blessed with two daughters, Charissa (Stephen Jenken) of Ottawa and Kirsten (Gellert Czako) of Miami, FL. Julie was ecstatic to be able to meet her first grandchild in the womb via ultrasound. She is also survived by two sisters, Jeanne and MaryAnn of Rochester; as well as her mother-in-law, Arla Hartburg of North Tonawanda; and sisters-in-law, Susan (Bob) Maxwell of Grand Island and Wendy (Larry) Krieger of Lockport.

A violinist and teacher in the Suzuki Method, Julie taught in the early 1980s at Niagara County Community College. She later founded her own program in Grimsby, Ontario and most recently taught in Waterloo and Brantford, Ontario.

Former members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, she and Mark have been privileged to serve with congregations in Niles, MI; Staplehurst, NE; Grimsby, Ontario and  Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kitchener, Ontario, where a Service of Thanksgiving was held on April 5, followed by interment at White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford, NY.
