Ronald G. Snyder


Ronald G. Snyder, 77, passed away at home, on Sunday, February 3, 2013 with his family by his bedside while under the care of Hospice Buffalo. Born on November 21, 1935 in Rathmel, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Lottie (nee Goodyear) Snyder.
He retired in 2007 after a twenty-five year career as a mortgage loan officer in the Phoenix, AZ area and returned to Tonawanda to be near his family.
Survived by his sons, Glenn (Pamela) Snyder of Burt, NY, Ronald (Cynthia) Snyder of Tonawanda, NY, and his daughter, Pamela Zimmerman of Amherst, NY; six grandchildren, Christine (Timothy) Watkins, Ryan (Venus) Snyder, Eric Snyder, Daniel Zimmerman, Brynn (fiance'e Brandon Holeva) Snyder, and Samantha Snyder: two great-grandchildren, James Ellis Snyder and Brady Scott Watkins; and his very dear friend and caregiver, Linda Jernigan. Also survived by his sister, Helen (late George) Clontz of Reynoldsville, PA; his former wife and mother of his children, Jane (nee Prohaska) Snyder-(Donald) Wadsworth; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William (Gail), Sherman (late Margie), Guy (Doris); twin brother, Donald (Pat), and Wayne (Marie); and a granddaughter, Brianne Marie Snyder.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 265 Falconer Street at Thompson, North Tonawanda, NY. The Rev. David Beutel will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church. Mr. Snyder donated his body to the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences for anatomical studies and medical research. His ashes will be interred at a later date in the Shrine of the Ninth Station of the Cross, Mount Olivet Cemetery.
