Herbert F. Schultz, age 84 of the City of Tonawanda, Monday, April 15, 2013 at Sheridan Manor Nursing Facility, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Orchard Park, he had been a resident of Tonawanda for the past 66 years. Herbert was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was a past member of the Church Council, and a former Elder and Usher of the church. He was also an Honorary member of Tonawanda Union Hook & Ladder Volunteer Fire Company. Herbert had been employed by Columbus McKinnon Corp. for 36 years and retired from Chevrolet Division of General Motors Powertrain after 8 years of service.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Myra A. (nee Radtke) Schultz; six children, Cheryl (Rodney) Damon of Montevallo, AL, Linda Zack and Jeffrey (Laurie) Schultz of Tonawanda, Bradley (Linda) Schultz of Cheektowaga, David (Jennifer) Schultz and Dennis Schultz of Tonawanda; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Loretta Miller, Aleta Fetzer and Evelyn Burger; two brothers, Clarence (Marion) Schultz and Frederick (Thea) Schultz and was the brother of the late Dorothy Albrecht, Marie Sauka, Richard Schultz and Erna Kellerman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Friday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, cor. of Scott and William Sts. in Tonawanda. Friends invited. The Rev. Andrew Abraham will officiate. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
