David M. Maier, age 50, of North Tonawanda, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Buffalo General Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in the Town of Tonawanda, he had been employed as a pipe fabricator for the Pipefitters Union in Buffalo, and was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. David was a lifelong aviation enthusiast and was a member and volunteer at the Niagara Aerospace Museum.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (nee Barnett) Maier; two children, Amber Maier and David Maier II; his parents, Frederick and Carol (nee Ihle) Maier; two sisters, Cheryl Doran and Barb (Lyle) Myers; and a brother, Frederick (Vicki) Maier. Also surviving are his in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
There is no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Monday at Salem United Church of Christ, Main and Morgan Streets, Tonawanda. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to the American Cancer Society are preferred. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., Tonawanda.
