OXFORD, MA —
Douglas M. Smyers, age 47, of Oxford, MA and formerly of the Tonawandas, unexpectedly, July 20, 2013, at his residence. Douglas had been employed as a Union Ironworker for more than 20 years and loved the outdoors and hunting.
He is survived by his friend and partner, Kelleen Benway of Oxford, MA; his daughter, Charlene Smyers of Kentucky and was the father of the late Madison Smyers; grandfather of Kaylan and Parker; his parents, David Smyers of Richburg, NY and Bernice (Douglas) Golden-Dole of East Amherst; two brothers, David (Rhonda) Smyers of Richford, NY and Dale (Lindy) Smyers of East Amherst; his sister, Deanna (Jamal) Arabaty of East Amherst and was the uncle of the late Billy Dowd. Also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service which will be held at the home of his mother, Bernice Golden-Dole, 7445 Transit Rd., in East Amherst, Saturday, August 3rd, at 5:00 PM. The Rev. Robert Fink will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Douglas may be made to a children's charity of your choice.
