Charles E. Kropp, age 62, of Tonawanda, died on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Sisters Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Buffalo, he was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda. A Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, he then served in the Air National Guard in Niagara Falls until 1998. Charles was a member of Hedstrom Baptist Church in Cheektowaga, Delaware Hose Company and the Firemen's Benevolent Association in Tonawanda, and the Lions Club of the Tonawandas.
He is survived by his wife, Terrie (nee Koerntgen) Kropp; his son, Harold (Megan) Kropp; his daughter, Sarah (Matthew) Bedics; three grandchildren, Bradley Grosskopp, Maiya and Nolan Kropp; his mother, Gloria (nee Gau) and the late Harold E. Kropp; five sisters, Lorna (Christopher) Jankowski, Marcia (Mitch) Haner, Mary (Mike) Seal, Kathy (Mike) Barnes, and Karen (Brian) Newton. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday at Hedstrom Baptist Church, 55 Losson Road in Cheektowaga. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to the Church are preferred by the family.
