NORTH TONAWANDA — Paul F. Hoover, 78, of North Tonawanda, NY, fell asleep in Jesus, Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Beechwood Nursing Home, with his family at his side, after a lengthy illness. Born in Lucinda, PA, he spent his married life of 57 years with his wife living and working in North Tonawanda, including over 25 years at Gardei, Inc. He was the founder of P&M Printing in 1966, which later became Pioneer Printers, Inc., that has been and currently is in operation in North Tonawanda for over 46 years. In 2009, Pioneer purchased his former employer, Gardei Inc., and merged it into their facility on Erie Ave.

Paul is survived by his wife, Mary (Braegas) Hoover; a daughter, Tracy (William) Schultz of Grand Island, NY; two sons, Carl (Valerie) Hoover of North Tonawanda, NY and Peter (Janet) Hoover of Waterford, MI; along with seven grandchildren, Cortny Frank, Roberta Callocchia, Billy Schultz, Jackie Berecz, Joshua Hoover, Paul A. Hoover and Stephen Hoover, along with three great grandchildren, Aubrey Frank, Makayla Hoover, Madison Berecz. He is also survived by two sisters, Leona (Robert) King of Phoenix, AZ, and Alice Brown of Clarion, PA; and one brother, Edward (Jessie) Hoover of Lucinda, PA. He was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters from PA, and a sister, Dorothy Felmet of North Tonawanda.

His family will be by his side to welcome friends and neighbors on Thursday, November 1st, from  2-4 and 6-9 PM, at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver Street at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda. Friends and family are also invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, November 2nd  at 11:30 AM, from St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY, with a luncheon to follow. Interment in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or North Tonawanda Meals on Wheels, 100 Ridge Road, North Tonawanda, NY.                          Guest register available at
