Dona L. Hopkins

CITY OF TONAWANDA — Dona L. (nee Blinston) Hopkins, age 80, of the City of Tonawanda, died on Friday, April 26, 2013, at her residence, while under the care of Hospice.  Born in East Aurora, NY to the late Elmer and Isabelle Florence (Millard) Blinston, she had been a resident of Tonawanda for the greater part of her life. Dona was a 1950 graduate of Tonawanda High School. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Circle II of the church. She was also a member of DeGraff Memorial Hospital Women's Auxiliary.  

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Allan B. Hopkins; three daughters, Kim Verrall of the City of Tonawanda, Debra (Randall) Shorten and Patricia (Peter) Vetter, both of North Tonawanda; five grandchildren, Aron (Wendy) Verrall, Kathleen (John) Swain, Megan (Rich) Pavetto, Nichola Vetter and Matthew Vetter; two great-grandchildren, Sienna Swain and Dominick Pavetto; a brother, Bruce (Donna) Blinston of Tonawanda; and several nieces and nephews.  

There will be no prior visitation. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service this afternoon (Saturday, April 27) at 2 PM, at First Presbyterian Church, 149 Broad St., in the City of Tonawanda. Rev. Edmund Hoener will officiate. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Ste. 6, Buffalo, NY 14221; or to First Presbyterian Church.  Arrangements by JOHN O.
