Ralph Roy "TruRalph Roy" Truesdell, of Wilson, December 9, 2013, at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Newfane, after a brief illness. Born December 27, 1915 in Niagara Falls, he was a son of the late Burt and Inez (Handy) Truesdell.
Ralph attended local schools and as a youngster delivered ice and worked on a farm. He worked for a year at Carborundum and drove a Ten Wheeler hauling automobiles, apples and water to farms.
Ralph worked for the New York State Department of Transportation, retiring in 1979. He worked for Schlyer Trucking. He was also the owner and operator of Truesdell Automotive in Wilson.
A member of the Yacht Club, Ralph loved to dance, play euchre and enjoyed boating. He was an avid hunter and fisherman for over 40 years.
Surviving him are two stepsons, Ronald (Suanne) Hacker of North Tonawanda; Gary (Judy) Hacker of Wilson; a sister, Ruth Vanhorn of Niagara Falls; 11 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceasing him were his wife, Beatrice F. Truesdell (2001); a stepdaughter, Carol Lee McCarthy.
Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4:30 and 7-8:30 PM in the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson, where funeral services will be Thursday at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wilson Volunteer Fire Company #1, P.O. Box 609, Wilson, NY 14172.
