NORTH TONAWANDA —
Helen (nee Sullivan) Duncan, age 93, of North Tonawanda, and formerly of Buffalo, died on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Northgate Health Care Facility, while under the care of Hospice. Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (McCutcheon) Sullivan, she had been a resident of North Tonawanda for over 50 years, and was the wife of David Duncan, who died in March of 2004. Mrs. Duncan was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She had been employed as a secretary for her husband's business, Duncan Bros. & Son Service Station, which David had started with his brother Vernon in 1946. Helen retired in 1981.
She is survived by a daughter, Carole (late William) Saunders and a son, David Duncan, both of Sanborn, NY; one grandson, David C. (Nichole) Duncan of the Town of Wheatfield; one granddaughter, Heather (Daniel) Slater of Niagara Falls; four great-grandchildren, Delaney, Morgan, Kaelynn and Kendall; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Burial Office and Holy Eucharist which will be offered on Friday, July 12, at 10:30 AM in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 61 Payne Ave. at Tremont St., in North Tonawanda. Private entombment will be in St. Mark's Episcopal Church Columbarium. Flowers gratefully declined.
