NORTH TONAWANDA —
Chester J. Kwarta, age 86, of North Tonawanda, June 14, 2013 in Northgate Nursing home, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Kwarta served in WWII with the U.S. Navy Seabees. He learned automotive collision repair during an apprenticeship at Kudla Collision, at which time he helped build his own car. He later owned and operated his own business, Oliver Collision. He also worked for Ashland Oil in Tonawanda and in Kentucky as an instrument repairman. He was a member of the American Legion, Sikora Post and the A.A.R.P. He loved to do woodworking and gardening.
Beloved husband of Irene (nee Franc) Kwarta. Dear father of Elaine Kwarta of North Tonawanda and Paul (Janice) Kwarta of East Amherst; grand-father of Philip and Matthew. Brother of the late Bertha (late Michael) Mowczko, Catherine Saj, Helen (late Daniel) Barrow; uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM from Our Lady of Czestochowa R.C. Church. Entombment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
