NORTH TONAWANDA —
John Thomas Albert Anderson, age 80, of North Tonawanda, February 18, 2014 in Kenmore Mercy Hospital. John was born on October 17, 1933. His parents were the late John and Jessie (nee Gullion) Anderson, who immigrated from the Orkney Islands.
John served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Ammen (DD-527) during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #237. He was an avid golfer. He volunteered his time and talents to the Boy Scouts and to his church, North Presbyterian Church, Payne Ave., in North Tonawanda. He was a former member of the McKenzie Highlander Bagpipe Marching Band.
Beloved husband of Patricia (Billas-Foster) Anderson. Dear father of Douglas (Karen) Anderson of Wheatfield, James (Sue) Anderson of Gasport, Bruce Anderson of Baltimore, MD and the late Robert Anderson. Grandfather of Sydney, Jesse, Ian, John, Matthew, and Maxwell Anderson. Brother-in-law of Dan Bokuvka of California; and the brother of the late Grace Bokuvka.
Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Thursday from 4-8 PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 4 PM from North Presbyterian Church, 168 Payne Ave., North Tonawanda. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to North Presbyterian Church.
