Joseph L. Trapasso

LOCKPORT — Joseph L. Trapasso, 62, of North Tonawanda, NY, was called to his eternal resting place        surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Niagara Hospice House in      Lockport, NY. Born in North Tonawanda, NY, he was the son of Frances (Renza) Trapasso of North Tonawanda, NY and the late Joseph F. Trapasso.

Joseph was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. He attended Ascension Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Gibbons High School in 1969. He later earned an Associate degree in Business from Bryant and Stratton College in Buffalo, NY. Known to many as "Dude" he worked in his family owned business, J.T. Mens Shop in North Tonawanda until 1988. He was also a founding partner with Jim Urbaniak of JJ Construction, also in North Tonawanda. Dude was a passionate music lover and through the years he performed as a vocalist with several area bands.  He also loved nature, gardening and     cooking. But his greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family. Joe's warm heart touched all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

In addition to his mother, Joseph is survived by his fiance, Kathleen Yates Hook of Delaware; two sons, Joel Trapasso of Lewiston, NY and Jesse Trapasso of Gowanda, NY; one granddaughter, Ella; his former wife, Christine Mokhiber and several friends and relatives.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-5 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 5th, at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 626 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda, NY, with Rev. Gary J. Szczepankiewicz officiating. Flowers graciously declined.
