Vincent E. Salisbury


Vincent E. Salisbury, age 88, of Tonawanda, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.  Born in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Patrick and Edna (nee Elwell) Salisbury and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. A resident of Tonawanda for 66 years, he had been employed at Bell Aerospace for 36 years until retiring in 1988. Vince was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish where he served in many ministries and was a longtime volunteer at DeGraff Memorial Hospital and Cardinal O'Hara Booster Club.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (nee Kuebrich) Salisbury; two daughters, Mary Ellen (James) Warren and Peggy Ann (late Thomas) Hedges; three sons, John Salisbury, Timothy (Ellen) Salisbury and Thomas (Lori) Salisbury; and three sisters, Margaret Salisbury, Patricia (late Dick) Allen and Sheila (late Robert) Frost. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Today (Friday) at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM on Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Broad Street in Tonawanda. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at the Church are preferred by the family.
