Winifred Catalano

GETZVILLE — Winifred (nee Gormady) Catalano, age 92, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the Rosa Coplon Living Center at Weinberg Campus in Getzville, where she had been a resident for the past three years.  Born in New York City to the late John and Mary (Craven) Gormady, she had been a resident of Buffalo, NY and the surrounding area for most of her life.  She was the wife of Russell J. Catalano, who died in 2001; and was the sister of the late Mary Niclo, William Gormady and Herbert Gormady. Winifred was active in the Rosary, Holy Name and Altar Societies at Holy Spirit R.C. Church in Buffalo for many years.  

She is survived by three children, Marie (late Ronald) Brenon of the City of Tonawanda, Frank (Caprice) Catalano of Olympia, WA, and Russell J. Catalano, Jr. of Kenmore, NY; a brother, Patrick (late Anna) Gormady of Grand Island, NY; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.  

Family will be present on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Monday from 11 AM-12 Noon at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22, at 12 Noon. Friends invited.  Private interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Flowers gratefully declined.
