CITY OF TONAWANDA —
Albert Charles Long, age 85, of the City of Tonawanda, died on Friday, October 26, 2012, at his residence, while under the care of Hospice. Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Albert and Edna (Holdsworth) Long, he had been a resident of the City of Tonawanda for the greater part of his life, and was the brother of the late Virginia (late Howard) Korff and Florien "Buster" (late Ruth) Pocock. Albert dropped out of his senior year in high school to become a US Navy veteran of WW II. He was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in the City of Tonawanda, where he had served as an elder and member of the Board of Deacons.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Long; his daughter, Melinda (Colin) Cuddy of Branchport, NY; two grandsons, Michael Charles Haggerty-Gross and Oliver Edward (Kerilea Butler) Gross; two great-grandsons, Benjamin and Jacob; and beloved nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 10, at 12 Noon.
