Wilbert Edward Ferchen

WHEATFIELD —

Wilbert Edward Ferchen, age 87, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home on October 20, 2013 while at the Northgate Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 22, 1926 he was the son of the late John and Minnie (Jagow) Ferchen.
Wilbert was a lifelong member of St. James Ev. Lutheran Church in Bergholz, also a member of the American Kennel Club, and the German Short Hair Pointer Club. He was self employed and former owner of Ferchen Kennels in Wheatfield. Hobbies included hunting, gardening, raised, trained and showed dogs.
Survivors include two sisters, Gertrude and Ruth Ferchen of Wheatfield; nieces, nephews and many friends. He was also predeceased by a brother, Roland Ferchen; and a niece, Marcia Ferchen.
Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME (731-3234), 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Jeff Milsten on Thursday, October 24th at 11:00 AM in St. James Ev. Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Rohr Street in Bergholz. Interment will follow in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
