Anthony J. "Tony" Ruggirello


Anthony J. "Tony" Ruggirello, of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his daughters, on Saturday, November 2, 2013, after a battle of pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 68. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Anthony and Adeline (Scalzo) Ruggirello.
Tony was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area, and attended St. Joseph's School, Bishop Duffy High School and LaSalle Senior High School. He worked 35 years for General Motors, Harrison Radiator in Lockport, NY. He loved spending time in Canada at his cottage with his friends otherwise known as his "second family" in Napanee, Ontario. He was a pool shark, an avid golfer, a great fisherman and loved being on the water. Anthony will be remembered for his devotion to his family, ability to fix anything, and his conviction that his way to do things was the "only way".
Anthony is survived by his loving daughters, Lori (Maurice) Mangan of Kiawah Island, SC, Carrie Cino of Grand Island, NY, Michele Romano of North Tonawanda, NY, Toni (Paul) Hutchinson of North Tonawanda, NY and Rachel (Jeremy) Esposito of St Louis, MO. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Kristen, Michael, Theresa, Tylar, Loren, Alexis, Alyssa, Spencer, Jenna, Caleb, Jared, Serena, Pink, Simon and a Baby Girl on the way; one aunt, Mary Zito; and several cousins. He was also predeceased by his former wife, Marcia Edsall.
Mr. Ruggirello donated his body to University of Buffalo for medical research. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, November 5th  at 12:00 Noon at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Should friends desire, memorials in Anthony's memory may be made to The Fatima Shrine for the care of the Ruggirello family statue of St. Anne, Our Lady of Fatima Shine PO Box 167, Youngstown, NY 14174.
