CITY OF TONAWANDA —
Louis L. Linhart, age 94, of the City of Tonawanda, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2013 at St. Francis Home Rehab Facility in Williamsville. Born in Buffalo, he had been a resident of Tonawanda for the past 56 years and was a US Army Air Force veteran serving during World War II. Louis had been employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1985. His life interests were doing odd jobs for family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan L. (nee Hirtzel) Linhart; three children, Thomas (Barbara) Linhart of Brockport, NY, Robert (Robin) Linhart of Burt, NY and Mary Jo (Marc) Cancilla of Eden, NY; eight grandchildren, Thomas, Jr., Lisa (Brent), Courtney (Joe), Robert, Ryan, Jeremy, Mary Arm and Marc, Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Tyler, Brian and Lola. He was the brother of the late Helen, Alice and Frank; and was the step-brother of the late nine step-brothers and sisters. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts) in Tonawanda, where prayers will be said on Thursday at 1:00 PM following the visitation. Rev. Marc Cancilla will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
