Ruth M. Long

LOCKPORT —

Ruth M. (nee Schulenberg) Long, 87, passed peacefully at Kenmore Mercy Hospital on Monday September 2, 2013. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Erle A. Long; and grandson, John F. Long. She was a retired registered nurse at Millard Fillmore Hospital and a tireless volunteer at Red Cross and Schofield Residence. She was a member of Stephen S. Sikora American Legion Post #1322 Ladies Axillary.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Linda (Ronald) Dodolak; son, John E. (Barbara Gauchat) Long; grandchildren, Ronald Dodolak, Jr., Sandra Smith, Michael and Mary Dodolak; and nine great-grandchildren.
Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 4-8 PM at Colucci Funeral Home, 652 Oliver St., North Tonawanda (692-4917). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa R.C. Church, 652 Oliver St.,North Tonawanda. GUESTS WILL MEET AT CHURCH. Family and pallbearers will meet at 8:45 AM at the funeral home. Interment Services will follow at Elmlawn Cemetery in Kenmore, NY. Family suggests memorial gifts may be made in Ruth's memory to SPCA Erie County, 205 Ensminger Road Tonawanda, NY 14150 or Kenmore Mercy Oncology Department, 2950 Elmwood Avenue, Kenmore, NY 14217.
