Kenneth Jacob Hartel, Jr.

SOUTH WEST, MO — Kenneth Jacob Hartel, Jr. passed away on September 7, 2013. Ken lived a good life and took it one day at a time, focused on his family and career. He served his nation in the Air Force for 25 years. He grew up in Tonawanda and graduated from Tonawanda High School before his enlistment.

Afterward he made a life for himself and his family in South West, MO. He was an active    member of the VFW and retired as owner of the Monett Broadway Gas & Go. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring and maintaining classic hot rods, as well as spending time with his grandchildren.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth J. Hartel, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Hartel of Tonawanda, NY; his brothers, Dennis Hartel of New York City and James Hartel of Franklin, NY; and one sister, Constance Skinner from Inwood, WV; children, Jacob Hartel, Gordon Hartel, Clifford Hartel, Joshua Hartel,  Kenneth J. Hartel III, and Angela Hartel; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the Bennett Wormington funeral home in Monett, MO on Thursday, September 12.
