Robert L. Korte


Robert L. Korte, age 85, of the City of Tonawanda, Monday, December 2, 2013 at McAuley Residence. A lifelong resident of Tonawanda, he was the father of the late Roger L. Korte; son of the late Herman and Hazel Korte; and brother of the late Fred Korte. He was a 1946 graduate of Tonawanda High School and served in the Army National Guard. Robert had been employed by Remington Rand Co. and retired from the City of Tonawanda Water Department. He was a member of Niagara Hose Volunteer Fire Co. and Tonawandas' Post 264 American Legion.
He is survived by his former wife, Olive (nee Erwell) Korte; his daughter, Sally (Kevin) Peterson, all of North Olmsted, OH; his daughter-in-law, Susan (the late Roger) Korte of Tonawanda; his grandson, Casey J. (Jennifer) Korte of Lockport; and his sister-in-law, Jane (the late Fred) Korte of Tonawanda. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7th at 12 Noon The Rev. Andrew Abraham will officiate. A private burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Sunday School Fund.
