Donald M. Schulz


Donald M. Schulz, age 88 of North Tonawanda, Sunday, August 18, 2013 at DeGraff Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, he was the husband of the late Florence (nee Winiatowski) Schulz; son of the late Henry and Anna Schulz; and brother of the late Henry, Edward and William Schulz. Donald was a US Army veteran, serving in the European Theater during World War II. He had been employed by Chevrolet
Div. of General Motors for 28 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Stephen Sikora Post 1322 American Legion, Dom Polski Club, North Tonawanda Senior Center and a lifetime member of the 3rd Armored Division Assn. He was an honorary supporter of Disabled Veterans Assn., Veterans Blind Assn., Seeing Eye Dogs Assn. and Vietnam Veterans Assn.
He was the dearest friend and companion of Fern Lavesque; loving uncle of Susan (Philip) Abramo, Eugene (Terry) Pienta and the late Donna Szymanski; and was the greatest-uncle of Darcy (Jay) Swiatek, Anthony (Samantha) Pienta and Steven Pienta.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Friday in Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, Oliver and Center Ave., North Tonawanda. Please assemble at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice or to the OLC Building Fund.
