You know what we need in Mid City Plaza? A fountain-type place where you can get ice cream floats and things like that. In the summer it would make a heck of a lot of money with the pool open. There’s plenty of empty stores in Mid City Plaza.

I guess my time doesn’t mean anything to public officials. On June 10, I went to attend the 9 a.m. monthly industrial agency meeting. A staff member said “It was decided not to have it.” At 6 p.m. that evening, I returned to attend the Niagara County Economic Development meeting, and no cars are there. It was canceled. We are only good enough to pay taxes, yet they still want us to act like we’re interested in government. I don’t think they want us to attend.

To the retired GM employee who went by the NT schools. What’s his point? Is it that only people with foreign cars didn’t vote for his president that he loves so much now? I did not see one car before, during or after the elections with an Obama bumper sticker that was not a foreign car. To this day, if they’re still on the cars, it’ll be a foreign car, I almost guarantee it. I don’t understand this person’s point.

The dropout and failure rates at North Tonawanda schools is a disgrace considering the amount of money we pay for a superintendent and one of the highest-paid retired superintendents in New York state. Teachers are grossly overpaid. We have an 80 percent graduation rate and a 6 percent drop in scores. I hope the teachers are proud of themselves. This shows that money does not buy education. Now that we have school personnel on the school board, I know that teachers will get a great raise and our children will fail. This is not fair to North Tonawanda. The teachers, administration and parents should be ashamed to have let this happen.
