SOUND OFF: Published October 24

The Tonawanda News

In reply to Sound Off concerning Mr. Davis being a full-time mayor, I think the question being asked is, “How?” He currently has a full-time job with the weather authority, which is shift work. Davis has seven children, whom he is proud of. So is he going to be a full-time mayor at $35K a year and give up his full time job with the weather authority, where he probably makes more than $35K? If he does, how is he going to provide for his large family on the full-time mayor’s salary?

We first heard of Larry Soos when he was going to overturn anti-smoking laws. Now as mayor he is paying a law firm to overturn wetland laws that have been reviewed by the United States Supreme Court. We bet he has as much success. But now he is using taxpayer money. Hmmmmm.

Why doesn’t some of the money raised at the 100th anniversary of the T-NT game go towards the sports program at school? I’d like to know that.

The Nobel Peace Prize would be better accepted if given where it is better deserved, and that would be awarded to our young men and women in law enforcement, where every day they risk their lives, preserving the peace for us all.

Ow! That hurts! Came back to town to play the Deerwood Golf Course, only to find that what was once a 2, is now not even average. The improvement money has been wasted. The problem was water damage. Making them smaller, and complete removal is not the solution. Who’s in charge? Mayor, how did this happen? Would you and the council raise fees again, as has been done in the past, for improvements? Well, this is not an improvement, it’s a huge waste of money. Bigger is still better.

So, third ward candidate Richard Slisz has a lawsuit against the city. It was my understanding that someone involved in legal action against a municipality could not hold office in the same municipality. Oh wait, maybe that’s why Rick Davis wants to hurry up and settle the lawsuit. More political cronyism from Tonawanda Democrats and I’m sick of it!

Three-hundred jobs stopped by the North Tonawanda Republicans. I’ve been bombarded with one Republican who keeps mentioning he “has a plan.” Now we know what the plan is. No Walmart.
