North Tonawanda residents, how are the sidewalks in front of your home? I can say in (my) over seven years living at the same address in North Tonawanda, the city has never replaced any of the broken, uneven and dangerous sidewalk sections there. Look around town. Yes, many sidewalks have been done this year, and I must say they look good, but were yours? As I drove around North Tonawanda this summer where the sidewalks were being replaced, I noticed several that did not need replacing and one in particular that should have the taxpaying citizens of this city up in arms. The property belongs to, as I’ve been told, a city employee and the sidewalks were 100 percent replaced, along with three to four feet of the approach to the driveway and at least three to four feet of the home owner’s private driveway. All I can say is the people getting the “personal” touch will never complain and anyone else that does probably will receive a deaf ear.

I am perplexed by people complaining about prayer not allowed in schools. We live in a free country in which anyone can pray anytime they want to. Unless the people complaining are actually just upset with the fact that prayer isn’t forced upon everyone in school. When religion ruled the world, we called it the Dark Ages.
