Paula Deen is a 66-year-old life-long Southerner. She grew up in racially turbulent times. Did she ever use a racial slur? Yes. Did everyone in the South? Probably. It’s still wrong and she realizes it. Is it right that the media, particularly the two hour story on CNN, decides to rip her apart to right the wrongs of all things past? Absolutely not.

To the person who responded to the fact that there are no people downtown after the concerts because it is Sunday and people have to work the next day. Exactly! That is why having the concerts on Sunday evening away from the city’s main hub is stupid.

Someone has a problem with the new police chief since he has 28 years of service and will probably retire in two years. So what? If he is the best qualified to be the chief what is your problem? Everybody has a goal to retire from their job.

It would be nice if the City of Tonawanda police patrolled Clark Street on Friday and Saturday evenings after midnight there are neighbors drinking and people do like to have their windows open, the noise is ridiculous. They moved into a neighborhood that is nice and quiet. Now it turns into a drunken brawl every night.

I looked online about the laws of discharging a firearm within the city limits, I have contacted the police before about it and my neighbor is doing it. Again I’ve heard gunshots this morning. If one of my children gets shot in my yard, I am suing the City of North Tonawanda.

What small-minded person is concerned about George Maziarz’s trip, a few hundred dollars o Arizona, which he’s more than likely paying himself, and not concerned about Obama’s many trips around the world?

On Morgan Street, just past Clinton, people were shooting fireworks off until quarter to one in the morning, it went on for at least two hours, It wasn’t the nice stuff that people have in the back yard that are pretty and that, this was bang, bang bang, really hard, loud fireworks. This is only a couple of doors from the mayor’s house. Can anyone tell my why the police didn’t stop it?

You know, there’s only one thing wrong with the kids today who are in trouble and it’s a thing called church. I see the parents all over North Tonawanda on Sunday, all at the supermarket shopping. Why don’t we just close down the supermarkets on Sunday, and then people might know what Sunday’s all about. When someone in your family is hurt or dying, what’s the first thing you do? You go to a quiet corner and fold your hands and pray. Well, instead of saying I can pray at home to God, and have him come to your house, it’s about time you went to his house. Oh I don’t have the time ... that’s a pitiful excuse.
