Graffiti suspect brings

evidence to court

The 16-year-old City of Tonawanda teen who has been charged in a rash of graffiti incidents across the city came to court Thursday with spray paint can tips in his pockets, police reported.

Ronald G. Carlisle of 122 State St. set off the magnetometer while passing through court security, police said. When asked to empty his pockets, he claimed to have candy in them and questioned whether it was necessary to take it out.

The “candy” turned out to be seven spray paint can tips that police suspect Carlisle of using while tagging, police said. He was charged with possessing graffiti instruments, a charge that will be added to his current court case when he appears again next week.

A friend of Carlisle’s told police that Carlisle was spray painting her bedroom a new color.

City of Tonawanda

CHARGED: Todd M. Evchich, 37, 37 Oliver St. lower, was charged at 4:42 p.m. Wednesday with false personation and disorderly conduct. According to police, Evchich was begging for gas money at the Tops on Young Street. When asked to state his name, Evchich allegedly mumbled a different name to police. Evchich was issued an appearance ticket.

CHARGED: Shannon D. George, 27, 232 Highland Ave., was arrested Thursday on a warrant for an original offense of endangering the welfare of a child on April 6. George was held for court.

North Tonawanda

CHARGED: Eric R. Kolpack, 21, 193 Ward Road, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated. Kolpack was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent. He was also charged with consuming alcohol inside the vehicle. Kolpack had two prior suspensions for failure to answer a summons in both the town and city of Tonawanda. He was released Thursday on $250 bail.

CHARGED: Russell H. Rea, 43, no known address, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with criminal contempt and second-degree aggravated harassment following a domestic incident on Wheatfield Street. A warrant for his arrest was issued April 3. Rea is being held in lieu of $750 bail.

CHARGED: Louis A. Chicone, 306 Schenck St., was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, possession of a burglar tool and petit larceny. Chicone is being held in lieu of $250 bail.

CHARGED: Michael V. Fiegel, 21, 61 First Ave., was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal trespassing and petit larceny. He is being held in lieu of $250 bail.

CHARGED: William K. Trudell, of Amherst, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with driving while intoxicated and consumption of alcohol in a vehicle. When police arrived they found Trudell asleep behind the wheel of the car with the engine running. Trudell was found to have a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent.

CHARGED: Denise M. Bebee, 83 Wheatfield St., was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing government administration and disorderly conduct associated with the arrest of Eric R. Kolpack.

Town of Tonawanda

CHARGED: Gerard C. Dixon, Jr., 19, was charged with disorderly conduct and third degree criminal tampering at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday. Dixon allegedly kicked over several mailboxes because he was angry over personal problems, according to reports. Dixon was held in lieu of $100 bail.

DWI: Dean A. Faso was charged with driving while intoxicated, illegal signal and failure to keep right at 3:20 a.m. Thursday. Faso was stopped for weaving and the officer detected numerous signs of intoxication, according to reports. Faso allegedly failed multiple field sobriety tests and a chemical breath test revealed a 0.14 percent blood alcohol content, according to reports. Faso was held for the judge.

DWI: Matthew A. Janicki, 55, was charged with driving while intoxicated and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on the highway at 4:22 a.m. Wednesday. Janicki was stopped for driving erratically and the officer detected numerous signs of intoxication, according to reports. Janicki allegedly failed multiple field sobriety tests and refused a chemical breath test, according to reports. Janicki was held for the judge.

CHARGED: Amy G. Koehler was charged with second-degree harassment at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday. Koehler allegedly verbally abused her neighbor during a dispute, according to reports. Koehler was released on an appearance ticket.
