Cab driver busted again
The City of Tonawanda taxi driver charged Friday in a drug deal was arrested again Sunday, police reported.
Debora L. Ciszkowski, 45, 301 Delaware St. upper, was charged at 4:17 a.m. with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, according to reports.
An officer saw Ciszkowski’s taxi stopped in the middle of the road on Delaware near Benton Street. The vehicle didn’t move for several minutes, and the officer initially thought the driver was waiting for a fare. However, after approximately 10 minutes, the officer pulled up alongside the taxi and saw Ciszkowski slumped over the wheel, the police report states.
The officer knocked on the window several times to wake Ciszkowski, who said she was tired and was on her way home, even though her apartment was several blocks in the opposite direction.
Aware that Ciszkowski allegedly has a history of drug use, they asked for her consent to search her vehicle, in which they found suspected crack cocaine in a clear plastic bag. Ciszkowski was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center.
She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance early Friday morning after police investigated an apparent drug deal gone bad. Ciszkowski allegedly went to the home of James D. Ernest, 38, 14 Frederick Road, to sell crack cocaine. The parties got into a dispute over the price and quantity, and Ernest reportedly pointed a gun to Ciszkowski’s neck, police said.
Police searched Ciszkowski’s vehicle then and allegedly found a crack pipe inside. Two Depew residents also were charged in the incident.

• DWI: Marilyn A. Woomer, 37, 55 Briarlee Drive, Town of Tonawanda, was charged at 7:12 p.m. Saturday with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI — her blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit — and failure to keep right, according to reports.
City police received a 911 transfer from North Tonawanda police reporting a drunken driver operating a GMC Envoy, which was last seen on River Road at the Seymour Street bridge.
Police located the SUV in the Walgreens parking lot and followed it to East Niagara Street before initiating a traffic stop at Douglas Street. Woomer, who exhibited signs of intoxication, told police that she and her male friend were heading to his house from Shores. She allegedly said she was driving because her friend was too drunk and she didn’t want him to lose his commercial driver’s license, according to reports.
Woomer admitted to drinking six beers between 4 and 7 p.m. and was unaware what time it was when asked by police, the report said. After twice declining to take a breath test, Woomer eventually agreed to take one. Her blood alcohol content was 0.20 percent, nearly three times the legal limit, according to reports.
Woomer is being charged with felony DWI because she had a prior conviction. She was held for court.
