Tonawanda News — City of Tonawanda

WARRANT: Patrick D. Catone, 22, Fifth Street, NIagara Falls, was turned over by the Town of Tonawanda Police Department at 9:45 p.m. Thursday on bench warrant for aggravated unauthorized operation of a motor vehicle. He was held for court.  

CONTEMPT: Frank J. Bredt, 26, Ideal Street, Buffalo, was turned over by Town of Tonawanda police and charged at 10 p.m. Thursday on warrant for criminal contempt. He was held for court. 

POSSESSION: Troy W. Getz, 26, Vandervoort Street, North Tonawanda, arrested at 12 a.m. Friday on a bench warrant for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was held for court.  

DWI: Steven Popovec, 52, Woodstock Avenue, Tonawanda, was charged at 12 p.m. Friday with DWI, unlicensed operation of motor vehicle, imprudent speed, and leaving the scene of an accident. Police said Popovec struck a National Grid pole on Ellicott Creek Road and fled the scene, leaving his damaged vehicle behind. He was caught on Alexander Street, where he told officers he began drinking at 6 a.m. He refused a breathalyzer test and was held for court. 

 North Tonawanda 

DWI: Dominic C. Labarber, 41, of Walck Road, was charged at 12:33 a.m. Friday on Erie Avenue with DWI and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He refused a breathalyzer test and was held for court. 

CONTEMPT: Gary L. Boyd, 50, of Thompson Street, was charged at 2:59 p.m. Thursday with first-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. He was released for court.
