DRUGS: Nicholas A. Giardina, 25, of Christian Drive, Cheektowaga, was charged at 11:34 a.m. Monday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance not in its original container, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and four traffic-related warrants. Niagara County Sheriff's deputies responded to a motorist's call saying a blue Ford pickup was "all over the road" driving south on Shawnee Road. Deputies located the vehicle and saw it swerve multiple times. Giardina told deputies he was taking off his shirt, which caused him to swerve though the report states Giardina was still wearing a shirt when he was pulled over. He admitted to taking Suboxone. Deputies found several doses of the controlled substance in the truck but no prescription bottle. Deputies said he "mostly passed" field sobriety tests. He is being held in lieu of $500 bail.
