Man arrested after fight with officer

A Clinton Street man was arrested Friday after fighting with an officer who was responding to a reported domestic dispute.

Percy P. Turner Jr., 25, was highly intoxicated and engaged in a physical domestic dispute with the victim, police reports said. When officers arrived at the scene, Turner became physical and fought with police. One officer injured his hand during the altercation.

Turner was charged at 6:32 p.m. with second-degree assault with intent to injure a police officer, two counts of second-degree harassment, criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct. 

He was held for court.

City of Tonawanda

DRUGS: Samuel J. Colombo, 48, of Belmont Avenue, Town of Tonawanda, was charged at 4:30 p.m. Friday with driving while ability impaired by drugs, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of marijuana, using a cellphone while driving and no registration following a traffic stop on Young Street. He was transported to the hospital where he submitted to a blood test and was later released on his own recognizance. 

OPEN CONTAINER: Casey J. Uplinger, 21, of Minerva Street, was charged at 3:52 a.m. Saturday with driving with an open container of alcohol and second-degree unlicensed operation of a vehicle following a traffic stop at Main and Adam streets. Police said Uplinger had three open bottles of Bud Light in her back seat. She is being held in lieu of $250 bail.

MARIJUANA: Jameson H. Baron, 20, of Gibson Street, was charged at 12:35 a.m. Friday with unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Main Street. He was released on an appearance ticket.

North Tonawanda

DWI: Laura D. Piazza, 51, 433 E. Stenzil St., was charged with DWI at 2 a.m. Saturday. Police pulled over Piazza at Oliver and Sommer streets. Her blood alcohol content was measured at 0.16 percent following a breath test. She is being held in lieu of $250 bail.

WARRANT: Robert J. Miller Jr., 34, 158 Main St., Apt. 1, was arrested at 5:02 p.m. Friday on the 700 block of Oliver Street. He was wanted on a warrant issued Thursday for third-degree assault stemming from a domestic dispute. Miller is being held in lieu of $350 bail.
