SOUND OFF: Published April 4

So you don’t have any children or grandchildren to come over and shovel your sidewalk for you. Wow you must have saved a ton of money all those years not having children. You must have really socked it away. You should have no problem paying someone to do it.

•••

OK all you sport fans! Who coined the phrase March Madness and where and when?

•••

About the sidewalks, I pay someone to plow my drive. I have back problems and there is no way I am going to shovel my sidewalk. Sorry.

•••

Here is an idea for North Tonawanda. Shut the city down. Ban driving on all streets and get the potholes in the streets and parking lots fixed. Especially the crater at the Meadow Drive entrance to the Mid-City Plaza and the River Road parking lot of First Niagara Bank.

•••

I agree with the caller that said that Howard Stern should be president.

•••

I find it ironic. This past summer I kept reading about how our North Tonawanda building inspector harasses it’s residents from improving their property. Last week, we have an abandoned property located on Gilmore Avenue were a 12-year-old girl was abducted. Was he too busy pointing out to residents their building mistakes that he overlooked this property? Maybe if had inspected it, that house could have been boarded up better.

•••

This is for the person who wanted to know that 12-year-old girl was taken to a Buffalo hospital, namely Women's and Children’s instead of DeGraff. Children’s is better equipped with staff like a child rape advocate to handle sensitive situations like this. DeGraff doesn't have staff on hand like that. This little girl was in the best hands possible going there.

•••

This is in regards to the abduction that happened last week. I hope our police department has better luck solving this case than the two unsolved murder cases that happened in this city. Another thing, if you check out the sex offender registry half those offenders don’t have an address. How are we as good tax-paying citizens supposed watch out for our children if we don’t know exactly who lives down the block from us?
