Well isn't it interesting that the “Fresh Boys” are back in the police blotter! Funny I was told that the group was no longer in existence! Looks to me as if they are. Now I am asking myself if last year’s theme is going to happen all over again with summer soon upon us. These same kids hang out at McDonald's, Burger King and Tim Horton's. How many of you readers realize that Tim Horton's has called the police on several occasions because of them? I am tired of hearing that the local police department's hands are tied. Baloney! In the “old” days with the “old crew” of cops this never would have been allowed to continue. It is time that we citizens of Tonawanda demand that the police department do something. At the very least make the parents accountable and if that doesn't work get Child Protection and the family courts involved. Maybe then these kids would begin to realize that their behaviors will not be tolerated!

I'm tired of people still discussing the old North Tonawanda treasurer. So what if she screwed up and cost the school district hundreds of thousands of dollars? People make mistakes. She will do better next time.

The Ken-Ton superintendent, Mondonaro, talks about cutting back. The board president, Brinson, talks about decreasing elementary students' transportation. They aren't talking about the administrators they added to the budget this year, physical education, human resources and publicity are well cared for.

Has anyone read the classified ads in the papers lately? There are no jobs to be found in the Tonawandas. We will never be a tourist site, and the political scandals of all our leaders are disgusting. I love my country, but fear the outcome of the next presidential election. Who is really representing us? NAFTA?

I can't believe this clown Peter Wolf is so concerned about rescue response time in such a small city. Where does he think he lives, Brooklyn? I'm quite sure the fire and rescue people from William Street can make the six blocks to his house in a very short time.

Here's a translation of politico speak. Tom Reynolds decides not to run due to "family" reasons. Translation: "we took a poll and he can't win." George Maziarz claims he's turning down running for Reynolds’ seat due to "family reasons." Translation: see above. I say run George run, and keep running, and don't stop.

Mayor Soos wants more of an "emphasis" on wine and cheese at the city market and involve City of North Tonawanda School District students? How about more emphasis on fruits, vegetables and table flowers? The mayor and school district's newfound "buddy-ship" is definitely looking toward self-profit on this idea.

North Tonawanda Common Council approved Local Law #2 for 2006 — Providing for the Registration of Certain Convicted Sex Offenders within the City of North Tonawanda. It is well worth reading and a copy can be obtained at the Office of the City Attorney, 216 Payne Avenue, North Tonawanda.
