I was just wondering...Will the attacker from Gilmore Street ever get caught or will it be forgotten like Mandy’s murder? NTPD couldn’t solve a crime even with a confession.

To the person who wishes to abolish the Sound Off section of this fine paper. I just have one thing to say to you, just stop reading the Sound Off section. Duh!

From uptight neighbor. Keep your kids and animals in your own yard, instead of your neighbors. That way your neighbors can enjoy the summer too! Oh ya! Keep your car radio down, your neighbors don't enjoy your noise and in the end I promise you we will have a nice summer!

No Canal Fest because of some darn birds? City and county leaders here have their heads up their butts. I lived in California for 10 years, and not even the far left liberal SoCalers would consider this (there's a sanctuary and a dog park right on Pacific Coast Highway, one of the busiest around!) I think y'all would learn a great deal by consulting with communities that are a heck of a (huge) bit more progressive (and living in the 21st Century). No Canal Fest because of some darn birds ... only in Western NY!

Well everyone is praising the Clintons. I am not. If you think the other depression was bad, I went through it. You are in for a surprise. Also, where are all our jobs and industry? China. Where kids and younger workers in factories do all the work. Wal-Mart included. This will really knock your socks off because the other depression will look mild in comparison. Thank you then President Clinton for signing NAFTA. Not everything is Bush's fault.

Please do not change our Farmer’s Market. We like the location, we like the ambiance, we love the old world feel of the place. Why do we need someone with retail experience? We have a great cheese supplier. Surely the market does not have to be turned into a wine and cheese tasting party. There are many wineries in Niagara County that make a living of doing this. The market has been running fine for a hundred years — don’t rock the boat.

People need to realize the effect buying foreign goods has on the American economy. The Chinese economy is booming, while ours is floundering and about to go under. The loss of good paying American jobs is causing a domino effect on the country. One only has to look at the housing market and the dire straits of future Social Security and Medicare recipients. Unless we change our buying habits, the Chinese will be the new super power, while we will be a second rate nation. As far as the government rebates’ effects on the economy, it will be like a flash camera going off. A brief, bright flash, then darkness.

I’m calling to comment on the article in the paper about the border guard who was fired or suspended and he claimed abuse. I support his allegation because I’m a former federal employee and I was submitted to that kind of treatment myself at the VA.
