I am just calling about the summer school in Tonawanda, just another example of how unorganized the Tonawanda School District is. Here in the City of Tonawanda, the land of high taxes and no services, get it together, or get out of office.

I am calling about the litter and trash in the City of Tonawanda. I am not going to blame the people for being litterbugs, I am going to blame the garbage men for being lazy. I watch them every week, they drop something and are too lazy to pick it up. Recycling is everywhere. Milk bottles are laying on every street. Come on guys, get with it or get a new job. If you can’t even pick up garbage, you better find something else to do like shovel poop at the zoo.

For over 40 years, I have lived in NT, never locked my doors, always was friendly to people. On April 8, someone broke into my garage and stole my daughter’s hockey equipment. If you see a son or daughter with CCM goalie gloves, a pink and silver Franklin hockey stick, or a CCM Victor yellow and black hockey stick - he stole it! Please return the equipment, no questions asked. If I catch you with it, I will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law. This was my daughter’s equipment, you had no right to take it. For over 40 years, this was a safe town. Now, no one does anything except complain to Sound Off.

Reading about this Matt trial it makes me wonder. Why does the defendant even go to court. Couldn’t the proceedings be recorded on a closed circuit camera system so the defendant can watch from his/her jail cell. A corrections officer once told me during the day there are 3,000 inmates being transported in New York state. When you add up the vehicle wear and tear, the gas and the guard coverage, this amounts to a huge waste of money. What about courtrooms located right at these jails, there seems to be so many better ways to do this. I don’t want to pay SWAT for this dirtballs/or any scumbags transportation.

Could somebody please tell me why the city has yet to make the decision to re-pave Wadsworth Avenue. I sit on my front porch and watch as cars come down my street on the left-hand side of the road. They do this because they are trying to avoid all the cracks and potholes. It’s only a matter of time before a bad accident occurs. It’s no secret that the road is in horrible condition, you can clearly see in the spring the mounds of disintegrated road by the curbs.

About the huge blunder the city of North Tonawanda made when the common council decided to sell the Niagara River Yacht Club. This move has cost the city over $100,000 in lost revenue and legal fees. Who was Council President when this occurred? Does anyone know, because they sure cost the city a boatload of cash.

Let Bush send his daughters to Iraq to lead our men and women into battle and see how fast he stops the war.

I know pot holes are pretty bad everywhere in the Buffalo area because of the severe winter and I know there are plenty of them still. But I want to thank Mr. Soos for his quick response. I called the mayor’s office last week about a pothole that I thought was dangerous. The very next day, while I came home from work the hole had been filled in along with some others on a very busy street. Thank you Mayor Soos.

Hey can someone tell me what they are thinking that they could launch the fireworks from the fire tower site on Tonawanda Island. You are too close to the marines. There is a 70 feet per 1 inch of shell size required so a 3 inch shell needs 210 feet of room. That means all those nice boats are going to get blasted there in the slips by the bridge. Oh mayor you blasted the Molson concert series for insurance, I hope you would have enough in the city bank to pay for this. My suggestion is a barge anchored of the northern point off the island that allows you to be outside the limits of the birds. But who am I to say what to do, no one contacted me yet and I shoot the fireworks for the 4th every year.

Can someone tell me why the old Roblin site that was cleaned is becoming a dump for old blacktop? How much just got spent on that cleanup and now is becoming a dump all over? Second why is it that when Meadow was just repaved not quite two years ago it is in such a mess and why is it that DDR who cut the street open in places and patched it was allowed to leave it that way? Why are my tax dollars being wasted all the time so that companies like this can get tax breaks and everything else. Third, we need to get out of the street repair business. Every street that we do falls apart in two or three years. It cost us more in the end to keep redoing these roads look at North in NT, Look at Meadow.
