I took two cards to be mailed at the City of Tonawanda Post Office on a Saturday morning. One was to go about three blocks away and one was to go to Grand Island. One made it to Grand Island on Tuesday, the one that was to go three blocks away to my granddaughter didn’t get there until Thursday. Can someone tell me why the price of mail keeps going up and the service gets worse and worse? She was waiting for her card and thought her grandparents had forgotten her. It was to go three blocks and it took from Saturday to Thursday. That’s ridiculous. The service is terrible, the people are grumpy. Please help our Tonawanda Post Office get back to what it was.

In the article about searching for a solution, did anybody ever think that it’s not the guns that kill, it’s the insurance companies? They don’t let you stay in the hospital long enough, they don’t let you get your care that you need because of the cost.

Baseball season is here. I was near the baseball field near Gilmore School and everyone drives in the grass and leaves big ruts. There are big signs all over the place that say do not park on grass, park in the school parking lot for games and practices. That is very inconsiderate.

Now that the dust and commotion has resided at 608 Gilmore where the young girl was assaulted, the city officials seem no more aware of the people visiting this location all hours of the day and especially at night. What is it going to take to have the city demolish this eyesore? The city officials are so close minded to react to such incidents unless it’s to the best of their own interest or one of their own. There is only one city official who has sincere desire to get things done properly and for his people and that’s Dennis Pasiak. This 608 has been reported a number of times but I guess they don’t have a GPS to find the location. Come on city officials, it’s time to stop working for the people who you represent. Their high taxes pay your salaries.

The local graffiti artist showed up to court with spray paint nozzles in his pockets. I don't think he should see additional charges, I think they should simply revoke bail and set a trial date a good month from now. If I was out on bail for drugs, and they found drugs on me at court, bail would be revoked immediately. In my opinion, this is the same thing.

To the person who thinks that the old Niagara Yacht Club is in good shape, better have his or her eyes checked. It needs more work than you think.

My family is moving out of the area and as we clean out our home a lot of trash has gone to the curb. We would like to thank the city workers who are responsible for picking it up. Thank you.
