Can somebody please tell me what Baby Joe Mesi knows about politics? He is a boxer.

Concerning the teacher who is on paid suspension, that is what you pay when you live in a free society and a Democracy. You are innocent until proven guilty. If you don’t like that, you move to a Communist country. Then you don’t have to worry about it.

I am calling regarding the concert line-up. Mayor Soos promised a list of the concerts at the first week of April. It has come and gone and I haven’t heard a thing about what concerts are going to be happening this summer. Because families plan their vacations, activities, and parties around these things, it would be nice for these things to be printed in the paper or announced when they are promised. Could somebody please put a small fire under Mayor Soos’ kiester?

This is in response to the person who said the potential sale of the Niagara River Yacht club cost the city almost $100,000 per year. This is totally false. Even if it was on the tax rolls, $500,000 does not generate nearly that much in revenue. Mayor Larry Soos was on the Common Council voted yes on selling the Niagara River Yacht. These are facts.

Why is that they call OLC Church and St.Joes a merger? The bishop is taking our OLC pastor. He is hurting a lot of people from this transfer, but does he care? No. We all love Father Dennis and would like to see him stay at OLC. To this day, we do not know anything about Father Dennis’ future, just like the blind leading the blind.

In today’s paper, I just read a Sound-Off item about the Tonawanda School District being disorganized and high taxes and low services and all that. Well, I’d like to add this. I work at a City of Buffalo public school and I am going to tell you right now, you might not be satisfied with your services, your schools, but be glad you live where you do, because you don’t have to pay the extra for private school education to get the education that you do in Tonawanda and North Tonawanda. I went to North Tonawanda public schools my entire life. They served me well. I have no reason to think Tonawanda’s are not the same. Look at Buffalo’s School District and compare it to what you have. You may not be happy and I am not saying it is not justified, but be glad you are where you are today.

In response to all the questions about Tonawanda High School or the city schools, I don’t know what people want. Every year you keep voting in the same school board. We have recently had the worst superintendent, but that’s okay. The only good thing is that she is leaving. You have to start trying to change these things, don’t keep voting for the same people or nothing is going to change.

I would like the owners of the Frog Grill to tell us what insurance company they have for the restaurant. I sure don’t want any dealings with that insurance company.
•••
The reason inmates are transported to the courts for trials because in this country, you are innocent until proven guilty. You are not kept in a cage like an animal like in Communist countries.

Slow down people and take time to breathe in the fresh air, listen to the birds and smell the flowers. Engage yourself in a hobby that makes you happy. Try smiling at a stranger passing by, you'll feel good. Take a slow walk to lower stress. Please stop complaining about how others do their jobs and take a look at ourselves and improve what we do. We live in a wonderful city where people stick together, this is our home, there may be things you don't like but really, we have it good. Life is beautiful, it's all about what you make of it.
