The Tonawanda News
The food shortage is becoming a crisis. I am getting tired of calling in. If the United States would stop paying farmers to not grow food, we would not have a shortage. This country has the capability of feeding the whole world, but no, the United States to pay farmers to go out and lease land from other farmers, and then the government pays the farmers not to grow so the land stays idle, when they could be planting food. They get paid for doing nothing, which is wrong.

After seeing how our country treats the world and solves their problems, they ought to solve the problem down in Texas with the 457 kids. This rebate of $300 is probably a way to just get into our income tax files because it was impossible to do. You have to be naive if you think that a whole lot of bad isn’t going to happen to a whole lot of people from this $300 rebate.

The Democrats are campaigning like there is going to be a Democratic president. They’re wrong.

I want someone to tell us how the rotten tree branches ended up on River Road. Did FEMA not offer a price to have these branches taken out of the city? These branches are now on River Road, used for mulch. If you go to the Burger King on Payne Avenue, you can smell the mulch that was put in front of that building. It is nothing but rotten branches. How did this happen?

I just read the Tonawanda News today on Tuesday, April 22nd. There was an (letter) by the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas which I believe is purely out of line. The editorial asks that the voters get out and vote yes for the school improvement plan. How does the Chamber of Commerce have anything to do with voting? They should be encouraging business and supporting businesses in the area, not addressing issues regarding voting. It was a bad move on the part of the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas.

Everybody is complaining about Clinton and NAFTA, but I see Bush up there defending it. If it’s so bad, why isn’t he up there changing things about it? Everybody and every president makes mistakes, but this guy has made a heck of a lot.

This is in response to the article about the city workers in Tammy’s Kitchen. If you are going to write into the Sound Off, at least be honest. These guys spent, at best, 20 minutes in here. You should use these skills you possess to fill out a job application so you are not so obsessed with other people’s lives. This will give you a little direction in your own life. But thanks for the free advertising, it’s appreciated. From the owners of Tammy’s Kitchen.
