The Tonawanda News
Did someone say in Sound Off that Dennis Pasiak is "proactive" for his stand on 608 Gilmore? Proactive means before something happens. Pasiak wants the tear the house down. He has demanded that the house be torn down. This my friend is called "knee-jerk," not proactive. So I challenge Dennis to make this happen. Tear down a house with no structural defects because you can't think of how to really solve the problem, and that is of the crime that was committed in the first place. I know Pasiak has no thought of tearing down this home, he just wants publicity. To prove my point just watch, a year from now the house will still be there and Dennis will not have uttered a peep about it. Politics as usual in NT from Dennis Pasiak. Say what sounds good but do nothing.

I hope DPW has in their plan this summer to remove the unused railroad tracks on Walck Road between Erie Avenue and Nash Road.

I attended the NT All-city concert last week and the kids were awesome! What a treat to be able to see some of our city’s finest musicians perform. The only downside is I couldn't believe how rude people could be. Getting up and walking up and down the stairs during performances. And it wasn't only children it was adults too. Now mind you there was a break just about every 20 minutes or less for them to change performers on the stage. You could get up then but to get up during a performance is rude. They don't even allow you to do that at hockey games for consideration of the other spectators. And if your children can't sit still and be quiet for 20 minutes, leave them home with a sitter.

In response to the person saying that we should adopt UK's law about cell phone users while driving. If we did that and suspended the drivers licenses for second offenders, all our police and other officials would end up walking. Good idea, we could save on high fuel cost for police and government vehicles. I like it.

I am a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather who grew up in NT, currently working for the U.S. Navy on one of their ships here in the Persian Gulf. I'd like to wish my mother, my wife (visiting NT this week before Mother's day), my sisters in law, nieces and all the other mothers in the area a very Happy Mother's Day. We're out here thinking of you and wishing we could be there with you. Happy Mother's Day moms, where ever you are.

I wonder how much the drug raid cost the tax payers. Wow, you got two people and they’re right back on the street.

I agree with much of what Eric DuVall had to say in his column. I was at the waterfront meeting and thought he spoke well. What I was appalled at and Mr. DuVall never mentioned was the ego trip the members of our Legislatures are on. They made it clear that the taxpayers are to erect a monument with their names on it in the park as eternal thanks for giving North Tonawanda the money that is due for waterfront development. The funds will come out of the park money. There might be a few less sinks in the bathrooms but we'll have a marble statue with our legislators’ likeness on it. Can you believe these guys?
