SOUND OFF: Published May 9

In the case of global warming, doesn't the earth learn from its mistakes. Earth's inhabitants single handedly destroyed the climate once before. I doubt anyone was around to remember this, but years ago we had an ice covered planet. Sometime scientists refer to this as the "Ice Age" whatever that means. This so called "Ice Age" ended when the cavemen, the saber tooth tigers, and the woolly mammoths destroyed the environment. We all know the cavemen went crazy with their bon fires. The saber tooth tigers were big shots and just had to have those big SUVs. The woolly mammoths watched a lot of reality TV and needed more and more power plants to keep up with the demand for electricity. Unfortunately they never figured out that one wind turbine could power like 6 homes. If they did I'm sure they’d be happy to pay a huge premium for electricity and stop building coal and nuclear plants. People need to stop using electricity and stop driving cars before the whole planet warms up like 2 degrees. I don't know about you, but I hate summers as they are now.

So you had some family in from the UK and they were complaining about people driving while talking on the phone. I bet they hopped in your car and drove down the wrong side of the road, came to an intersection and didn't stop because they were looking for a turnabout.

This is in regards to the North Tonawanda School District cutting the studio in art program. I believe that cutting that program is bad for the students who enjoy art classes and feel that studio in art is their best subject. The 7th grade students who signed up for studio in art will no longer be able to participate in such a wonderful program. This program is a great way to help students improve their artwork and art techniques. Although I was not able to participate in such a wonderful program I regret the fact, that while I am attending North Tonawanda High School I will no longer be able to take this program. I truly believe the school board has messed up again by taking away something students enjoy doing. It’s such a huge loss for a small gain.

I agree with the article I read, on getting drivers to put the phone down. Too many accidents are the main cause of that. I would also like to see them do something about these drivers that have huge speakers in their cars. I am sick of jerks driving by with their bases blaring, making my windows vibrate. It keeps getting worse and worse. I have noticed that it is getting louder and louder. I wish they would put a stop to that.

Attention everyone. The government is giving everyone $300 to get into our income tax files because it was impossible to do. Hmmm, this person makes no sense at all, notice their rebate is only $300. Brings me back to the point, why are we giving fast food workers this money?

This is for all Catholics who are having trouble with their faith. I believe that Jesus is present in whatever church we attend. This is what the Catholic faith is all about, is it not? I also believe that a church divided can not stand. Do we want our church to stand or fall? It is up to us. Please don't let the devil win. The future of our children and our own souls depend on your strength in your faith. Thank you and God bless.
